WHEN Sandy councillor Max McMurdo heard that a boxing glove once worn by top boxer Amir Khan was on offer at a charity auction organised by local air cadets, he decided to try the glove out for size.

On the receiving end was BBC Three Counties Radio's presenter John Pilgrim who is going to be the auctioneer.

Other items at the auction include a signed pen from Prime Minister Tony Blair, a signed Renault team cap from Fernando Alonso, bottles of wine and champagne, tickets to Kensington Palace and the Royal Dress Collection and a signed print from The Red Arrows.

The auction for Keech Cottage Children's Hospice is tomorrow (Friday) at Russell Hall, Shuttleworth College, from 7.30pm. Entrance is free, lot programmes are £1. There will be light refreshments and the bar will be open.
