NOT a word escaped schoolchildren's lips as they held a sponsored silence to raise money for a cancer charity.
Witnessed by MP for North East Hertfordshire, Oliver Heald, youngsters at Grange Junior School in Letchworth GC took part in The Big Hush - Macmillan Cancer Support's annual sponsored silence.
The Big Hush on Friday marked the end of Cancertalk Week and is a fun way to raise money for Macmillan.
Macmillan's Cancertalk Week aims to get young people aged seven to 16 talking and learning more about cancer, with the intention of reducing the fear surrounding the disease.
By getting involved in lessons and activities during the week, and taking part in a story writing competition, the children at Grange Junior School increased their own awareness.
