Several police vehicles and ambulance personnel are at an address in Letchworth after an incident earlier today which saw an air ambulance land, with one patient taken to hospital.

The Comet understands that there are up to eight police vehicles at the scene in Whitethorn Lane, but it is not yet clear what has happened.

A police spokeswoman told the Comet: “The priority at the moment is to establish what has happened and provide investigative support accordingly.”

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “The ambulance service supported police colleagues at an address in Letchworth this afternoon.

“Two ambulance officers, two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, and the Herts & Essex Air Ambulance were dispatched to the scene, and one patient has been taken to hospital.”
