A Fairfield restaurant has launched a fundraising appeal in aid of Marie Curie, encouraging customers to donate a daffodil to say thank you to their mum.

Throughout March The Orchard Fairfield is displaying daffodils from visitors in return for a £1 donation to the charity, culminating on Mother’s Day on March 31.

Every daffodil has been placed on a wall to create a vibrant sea of yellow getting bigger as more flowers and donations are made throughout the month.

Director Steven Mitchell said: “We are thrilled to be supporting Marie Curie, it is such a deserving cause and touches so many people.”

Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness and their families.

At 11am tomorrow The Orchard will be holding a coffee morning inviting members of the public, press and local businesses to donate a daffodil, providing an opportunity to network and raise funds for Marie Curie.
