On the village calendar is the St Paul's Walden Challenge, which takes place at this time each year, having started in 1984. It is run by the Mimram Valley Rotary Club and all profits go to the local teams depending on how well they perform. Last year £2,500 was distributed with £1,000 going to the winning team, the St Paul's Walden Parish Plan. All village teams are invited to enter, the first round takes place on Friday, February 24 at 7.15pm in the Village Hall, followed by the final on Friday, March 3, interested parties should contact Jean Kaye on 01438 871566 or Ed Ross-Hurst on 01438 871468.
