They won first place at the Biggleswade carnival and enjoyed performing at Bedford River Festival at the weekend. The AGM and presentation evening was held on Tuesday, July 11. Attendance at the evening was disappointing however a full committee was elected for next year including two new members whom they thank for coming forward. Sadly the trainer, Heather Warwick is leaving after being a long serving Majorette and then trainer, and was presented with a bouquet and wished well with her studies. Every girl who had represented the troupe at displays over the past year was awarded a year badge and certificate. Special awards went to Tara Oakley and Laura Mackie for Best Attendance, Torri Lucas for Most Improved, Laura Scott received the Trainers Award and Amanda Mackie The Andy Smyth Award (Majorettes choice). The coveted top award of Majorette of the Year went to Jessica Callard. Congratulations to the winners. They have now broken up for the summer and start again on Tuesday, September 5 and will shortly be contacting girls on the waiting list to join in September. Anyone wishing to join the list may contact Paulette Biggs on 01462 629646.
