How the year is rushing by! Later this month the collecting boxes will be collected and emptied, but if you want to bring your box to me, it will be greatly appreciated. Our Autumn Quiz based on HM The Queen came to an end last Sunday, many thanks to Barry for putting this together. Answer sheets will be available from early November. Orders continue to flood in from both Webb Ivory and TLM's Autumn/Christmas catalogues. If you want to see both or either catalogues, let me know as soon as possible. Diane and I host the Cheese and Wine Evening on Friday, November 24 from 7.30 to 10.30pm. Tickets are kept at £3.50 for the fifth consecutive year and include a glass of wine and as much cheese as you can eat (with more food besides for non-cheese eaters). If you need a lift let me know on 682032. Tickets are now available from myself and the other TLM Support Committee members. The last event of the year will be the Christmas Concert with the Stotfold Salvation Army Band with other groups at Sandy Upper School on Thursday, December 7 at 7.30pm, admission is £4 and tickets are now available. Last month say a new General Director in Geoff Warne from New Zealand, who is no stranger to the Mission. There is also a change more locally at the England and Wales Office when the National Director, Warren Lancaster is moving to a new challenge after five successful years with us. Some news from the field: "My name is Miss Sukla Sutradhar living in a leprosy colony in Gowripur (near Calcutta), and in our family we are seven, (four sisters, one brother and our parents) living under one roof. Our family background is very poor, mother is affected with leprosy and father goes for daily labour. I was interested in learning about hand made products, as it has a good demand in West Bengal, so I was recommended by Bankura Vocational Training Centre to TLM Vizianagaram VTC to learn paper crafts. I will soon go home in a month's time and will start work. This trade will be useful for my future and my family". I have a few alternative collection boxes to the traditional L box or phial you are currently using. These are very sturdy although made from hand made paper by the students like Sukla. Let me know as I visit you if you would like to see the new box. Thank you for your continued support.
