As a result of insufficient ticket sales, the Autumn Barn Dance was cancelled last Friday. It was only the second event we have had to cancel in 37 years of fundraising, it was disappointing however, many thanks to all who had bought tickets and subsequently made donations enabling us to meet all cancellation fees without detriment to our fundraising. Earlier in the month we had an enjoyable Town Walk around Sandy on a sunny afternoon, led by Barry Groom, who fascinated us with tales of both old and modern Sandy, the afternoon ended with a welcome cuppa served in the Rectory Room. £23.30 was added to our funds, thanks to Barry for giving us a very pleasant afternoon. Thanks to Elizabeth Adams, Mrs Bevan and Mrs Bevan's sister for assisting us to raise £40 from guess the name of the panda. His name was Woody and it was won by Miss Millard of Upper Caldecote.
