Held their 14th AGM and lunch at the Conservative Bowls Club Pavilion last Thursday. President Mrs Margaret Bucke welcomed members and said what an enjoyable time was had by all at the Silver Anniversary Dinner held at the Park Inn Hotel, Bedford. Margaret read out a message from Betty Smith thanking members for their good wishes. Nancy Lakin reminded members about the pub lunch on November 14 at the Five Bells, Henlow and also the Christmas Concert at Westminster on December 9. The mince pie and wine event this year would be at the Sandy Bowls Pavilion on December 3. The AGM began with Ann Lovesey read the minutes of the last AGM, following with other reports. The retiring President handed the chain of office to the new elected President Pauline Westhrop. The new committee are Vice President Ruth Coxon, Secretary Ann Lovesey, Treasurer Peggy Kettleborough and the committee are Moreen Beel, Peggy Backhouse, Paula Allen and Jeanette Taylor. The meeting finished with the Probians Toast.
