AT The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage pupils and staff are celebrating outstanding, record-breaking results.
Achieving five or more A* to C grades were 82.9 per cent of students, compared with 81 per cent last year, and 69 per cent of pupils gained five or more A* to Cs including English and maths.
Thirty-four per cent of all grades were A*s or As.
Headteacher, Michael Kelly, said: "We are just delighted for parents because they are so supportive of the school, and for the pupils who have worked very, very hard. We have tremendous support from parents and it makes all the difference.
"They are the best GCSE results to date and come on the back of outstanding A level and AS level results.
