THERE will be eggs-citement galore at Sue Ryder Care's annual Easter egg hunt this Sunday.

The event will run from 2.30pm to 4pm and will cost £2 per child. There will also be children's games, face painting, refreshments and a cake sale. There will also be treasure hunting metal detectors.

Waitrose Stevenage store has donated nearly 400 Easter eggs for the hunt and Stevenage Town Centre Management has organised seasonal gift donations as raffle prizes from town stores.

Jane Winters, branch marketing co-ordinator of Stevenage Waitrose, said: "It was a great opportunity to help make the Easter egg hunt a day to remember."

Barbara Burnett, area fundraising manager of Sue Ryder Care - Stagenhoe said: "Thanks to the support of Waitrose and the Stevenage Town Centre Management there will be a lot of happy children around Stagenhoe Park on Sunday afternoon."

* Stevenage Town Centre Management will hold a town centre collection for the charity, to run alongside their Bunny Mania event on Good Friday and Easter Saturday. Chiltern Radio will be there with the Black Thunders to help promote the Bunny Mania competition and encourage donations to The Comet-backed special beds appeal.
