Has its own County Champion, Janet Northern won the over 55 singles final 21 - 18 at Langford on Sunday morning. Janet now goes on to meet the winner of the Warwickshire and Huntingdon game later this month. It was a bad week in the East Beds League with all three men's sides losing league games and the two ladies teams being knocked out of the cup. Saturday saw the men lose at home to Kent Athletic by 92 shots to 82, although they did have a winning rink of Malcolm Clarke, Colin Crouch, Dave Northern and Barry Robinson. The ladies won their game at Wilstead by 49 shots to 45. Sunday saw the first domestic competition being played, with the members playing for the Richard Porch Trophy After some tight games the winners were John Dudgeon, Peter Brown and Vic King. The runners up were Ann Bland, John Batcheldor and Stan Potter. All had an enjoyable afternoon and the club would like to thank Jean King and Mary Tompkins for providing the teas.
