FUNDRAISERS across Comet country were out in force last week, having fun and raising cash for Comic Relief.

The cash came rolling in for The Big One from nursery assistants, supermarket workers and pub staff.

Sarah Mussack, a nursery assistant at Leapfrog Day Nursery in Letchworth GC, allowed youngsters to cover her in beans and peas, the landlord and staff at The Chequers pub and restaurant in Bragbury End, Stevenage, dyed their hair red for the day and pupils at St Christopher School in Letchworth GC formed a human chain as their contribution to Red Nose Day.

The ladies at Brignalls Balderston Warren Solicitors in Whitehorse Street, Baldock, raised over £85 by dressing as schoolgirls on Friday, while Sainsbury's staff across North Herts donned outrageous fancy dress outfits to raise money.

Staff at the Poplars store in Stevenage took part in a trolley push through the new and old towns and over £4,500 was raised at the Corey's Mill store.
