A TEENAGER has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 17-year-old David Paine.
Yesterday (Wednesday) the Stevenage youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at St Albans Crown Court.
The hearing was listed so that the youth could enter for the first time his plea to the charge he faces.
Dressed smartly in a white shirt and blue tie, he pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mr Paine, of Leaves Spring, Stevenage on January 27 this year.
Mr Paine died following a stabbing incident in Broad Oak Way, Stevenage.
The accused, who was 17 at the time, has since turned 18 but can't be identified.
Judge Findlay Baker QC fixed the date of June 19 for the trial to start.
It is expected to last between four and five days.
The teenager was granted conditional bail.
