TWO teenagers were assaulted and robbed while walking through a park.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the attack which happened in Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage, between 11.30am and noon on Friday, April 21.

The two 15-year-olds were approached by a group of teenagers who demanded money and threatened violence.

When they refused the group attacked the two boys and took money from one of them.

Dc Kerry Burrows from the robbery unit said: "This was a very vicious incident which left one of the boys with serious injuries. The attackers were in a large group and I'm sure that somebody must have seen them and be able to identify some or all of them to me."

Both boys were taken to Lister Hospital but were not kept in overnight.

The offenders are described as being a group of between five and eight youths, some black, some white, aged 15 to 18 years of age, wearing sports clothing, in particular a grey ECKO tracksuit and a black NIKE AIR tracksuit.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Dc Burrows on 01438 757043.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
