A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in Letchworth this morning.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene in West View at around 3am today, where a garden fire had spread to two homes.

Three fire engines were at the scene, and had the blaze out by 5.15am.

The fire service said everyone was accounted for. The Comet understands that a pet rabbit died as a result of the fire.

It is alleged the fire was started deliberately. A 17-year-old boy from Shefford remains in police custody at this time.
