A teenage boy was airlifted to hospital from Clifton yesterday evening after a group of youths shot him with what is thought to be a pellet gun.
Officers are investigating the incident in Stanford Lane just after 8.20pm, with the teenager now in a stable condition in hospital.
Police have said this is being treated as an isolated incident at this time.
Extra patrols have been put on in the area and anyone with information, or who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area, should call DCI Chris Beresford on 101, quoting reference 455 of May 25.
