A school in Hitchin is celebrating winning a prestigious music prize putting them among the top schools in the country.
Talented young musicians representing Hitchin Girls’ School on Highbury Road were awarded the coveted Incorporated Society of Musicians Gold Certificate putting them in the top 76 schools in England for GCSE Music achievement.
Barry Chambers, HGS head of music, said: ‘I am thrilled music at our school has been recognised in this way.
“It is truly a team effort and we are very proud of our talented and hardworking students.
