The very talented Alex Francis will be playing a renowned music festival this summer which includes some top names including Run DMC, Rod Stewart, Arcade Fire, Bastille, Kaiser Chiefs and The Vamps.

Former Hitchin Boys’ School student Alex Francis – tipped by many music experts to hit the big time any minute now – is delighted to be playing the prestigious Isle of Wight Festival in June alongside such legendary acts as The Pretenders and Alison Moyet.

Hard-working Alex, who is proud of his Hitchin roots – which has seen him play live on the day of Hitchin Town FC’s march to Save Top Field, the iconic Club 85 as well as wowing the crowds at the cult Street Food Monthly in Market Place – is seeing his career progress nicely.

He told the Comet: “I’m beyond thrilled to be part of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival alongside so many amazing, legendary performers.

“It’s a real honour to be asked and I absolutely cannot wait to get on stage!”

The talented older brother of James Bay – he’s 27 and the singer of Hold Back The River is 26 – has been busy writing and honing his craft, as music industry insider talk on him is increasing by the day.

Other acts involved in the festival set to take place from June 8 to June 11 include The Kooks, Imelda May, Razorlight, Starsailor, Space, Melanie C, Scouting for Girls, Lanie C, Tom Chaplin, Lucy Spraggan, Bang Bang Romeo, Paradisia, Wild Front, The Slow Readers Club, Showhawk Duo, and Victoria.
