A casting call has gone out to talented young people with Stevenage roots to put their hands up if they could use a bit of help as they try to build their careers.

Every year Stevenage Arts Guild supports a clutch of talented young performers in a wide range of disciplines.

Chair Hilary Spiers said: “If you are between 12 and 24 years of age, have lived in Stevenage for a substantial part of your life or have received the major part of your secondary school education in the town you may be eligible for a grant to help pay for your professional development and training.”

More than 30 grants have been made over the past two years and applications for the latest round are now welcome, but must be received by March 31.

Hilary said: “If you are successful you will also be offered opportunities to perform at Arts Guild events or other dates in the town’s calendar.”

To find out more about the awards scheme and how to obtain an application form contact Hilary on 01438 350217 or email johnhilary1@virginmedia.com.
