Two summer houses were destroyed in an early morning fire in Knebworth.

Three fire crews tackled the blaze in outhouses at the rear of a property in Watton Road after the alarm was raised at 6.07am on Sunday.

The flames threatened surrounding buildings, but fire fighters managed to contain the blaze, putting it out shortly before 6.45am.

A fire investigator said the cause was accidental.

No-one was hurt in the incident.
