A student nurse died when her car struck another vehicle and crashed into a field.
Nadene Horner, 21, of Granville Road, Hitchin, was driving along the B655 Hitchin to Hexton road on Saturday when, for reasons unknown, her red Vauxhall Corsa veered across the road and collided with a green Rover 214.
Two people in the Rover, both in their 60s and from Birmingham, suffered minor injuries.
Miss Horner, a student at the University of Hertfordshire, died at Lister Hospital from her injuries.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the accident or who saw her driving along the B655 prior to the crash at 10.45am.
