A forward who was released by Stevenage FC last summer was today handed his first call-up to the Aston Villa first team squad.

Keinan Davis was a youth team player at Boro until last year when he was released by the club before eventually joining Biggleswade Town.

But after just a few months with the Waders he has since signed an 18-month contract with Aston Villa following a successful trial.

The 17-year-old has impressed Villa boss Remi Garde so much that today he was named on the bench against the Canaries in a match Villa won 2-0.

Next Sunday Davis could be competing for a place in the squad once more when Villa host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
