STOTFOLD Festival ended with a weekend of activities including the Stotfold festival fete on Saturday.
The Fete included entertainment from the Salvation Army Band, St Mary’s Academy Country Dancers and the Stotfold Twirlers and the scouts held their traditional gun run race. The race which saw two teams of scouts dismantle a cannon, take the pieces over an assault course and rebuild it, was won by the Cherokees team.
The St Mary’s School Association also held its annual balloon race with the balloons released during the afternoon. A few years ago one was returned from as far away as Germany.
Proceeds from the fete are being donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, the total raised so far is over £2,000.
Headteacher of St Mary’s Academy said: “It was a fanastic afternoon the weather was very kind to us and the Stotfold community showed their support for a very worthy charity. Thank you to everyone who helped or supported us on the day.”
