DETECTIVES investigating two burglaries in the same street in Shefford have, on the direction of the Crown Prosecution Service, charged a Stotfold man.

Dean Mays, 26, of Rook Tree Lane, Stotfold, was charged on Saturday with two counts of burglary and appeared at Bedford Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to appear at Luton Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

The charges follow an investigation by Ampthill CID into two burglaries in Clifton Road, Shefford, at the beginning of September. Property stolen included two cameras, jewellery and cash.
