A BY-ELECTION is being held today (Thursday) following the sudden death of a councillor.
Voters in Stotfold and Langford will go to the polls to elect a district councillor for the ward after the death of Cllr Jon Clarke at his Langford home in June.
Cllr Clarke’s wife Gill is standing to succeed him on Central Bedfordshire Council in a bid to retain the Conservative seat.
The other three candidates are Anthony Baines for the Liberal Democrats, Satinderjit Dhaliwal for Labour and George Konstantinidis for UKIP.
Polling stations include Stotfold Football Club and the Langford Scout Hut.
