Store robbed by armed raider

CASH and cigarettes were taken in an armed robbery on Friday night.
A man walked into The Local shop in The Hyde, Stevenage, at about 9.20pm and demanded money.
When the shop's cashier refused, he produced a handgun.
The cash and cigarettes were then handed over and the man left the shop in an unknown direction.
He is described as a white man, 5ft 10in, of skinny build with short dark hair, and light green or hazel eyes.
He was wearing a black scarf covering his face up to his eyes, and a black hooded top.

Over the top of this he was wearing a navy Adidas top with three white stripes down the arms and matching trousers.
He was also wearing dark coloured trainers and spoke with a local accent.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
