PLANS to build 34 homes on land next to a water tower were backed by borough councillors last night (Thursday).
Members of Stevenage Borough Council’s planning committee granted Affinity Water outline planning permission to turn land behind Hampson Park Water Tower in Stevenage into one and two-bedroom flats, and two, three and four-bedroom houses.
The water board can now create more detailed proposals for the 1.05-hectare site which is surplus to requirements before returning to the planning committee with an application for final approval.
