A FROZEN pitch has caused Stevenage’s npower League 1 fixture away at Bury tomorrow (Saturday) to be called off.
Given the freezing conditions and snow across the country the decision was not a surprise.
A pitch inspection this morning (Friday) at Gigg Lane found large parts of the surface frozen despite the covers being over the grass since the weekend.
A new date for the match is yet to be arranged.
Also in the north west Accrington Stanley’s League Two clash with AFC Wimbledon was also called off this morning, with others expected to follow.
