Plans for the regeneration of Stevenage town centre have taken a step forward after a specialist consultant was appointed to create a task force for future projects.
David Lock Associates will oversee the changes and bring in key partners and investors.
DLA project manager Andrew Fisher said: “Stevenage has huge potential to radically change its town centre offer – the presence of significant globally important companies in the town alongside quality infrastructure and connectivity all point to the potential for a bright future.”
Council leader Sharon Taylor said: “This is fantastic news for Stevenage and I have made it my priority to get it back on track. Having grown up here, I know how frustrating it is that our town centre has not had the regeneration it needed.”
