A town square was cordoned off after reports of an abandoned plastic container being found this morning (Friday).
Police were called to Stevenage Town Centre at 9.30am after a member of the public reported finding the object.
The area was cordoned off to protect members of the public but was deemed safe and reopened by 10am.
