Police have charged a Stevenage teenager following an investigation into drug dealing.

Paul Bennet of Shephall View is due to appear at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on January 18 after being charged with possession of a class B drug with intent to supply.

The 18-year-old was arrested on November 11 after police searched his address in April. The officers found drug accessories in an upstairs bedroom and cannabis in a garden shed.

Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant Alison Hutchin said: “This was as a result of the series of warrants that were executed by the local safer neighbourhood team in the Bedwell area in April under Operation Alderman.

“I would like to encourage local residents of Stevenage to continue to provide information, especially in relation to drug dealing. This will allow us to continue to tackle the issue by executing drugs warrants, taking drugs off of the streets and ultimately securing prosecutions.”

Information can be reported either via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
