Stevenage teacher suspended after fraud arrest

A school teacher has been suspended after being arrested on suspicion of fraud.

The 40-year-old woman from Stevenage, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested in connection with fraud at a school in Stevenage where she is employed.

A spokesman for the school said: “A member of staff has been suspended without prejudice while the police investigate a potential fraud.

“We take these matters very seriously and are assisting the police fully in their investigation.”
