The detective investigating a stabbing in Stevenage on Tuesday believes that the victim was followed – and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Three boys, two aged 14 and one 13, have been arrested on suspicion of grevious bodily harm after a 14-year-old was stabbed at the foot of the ‘curley whirly’ bridge in St Martins Way at around 3.45pm.
Detective sergeant Ian Sheridan from the Stevenage Local Crime Unit said: “We believe that the victim was followed by the alleged offenders, who were travelling on foot and on bicycles to the bridge, where the offence is reported to have taken place.
“They then made off across the bridge which leads to Rectory Lane.
“Thankfully the victim did not sustain life-threatening or life-changing injuries, but he did require hospital treatment – and is now recovering at home.”
