Stevenage stab victim airlifted to hospital

A stabbing in Stevenage has resulted in one man being airlifted to hospital and another arrested.

Police were called to the scene of an altercation between a group of people in Swingate at around 3.30pm, where a man in his 30s had sustained slash wounds to his back.

An ambulance crew, ambulance officer, rapid response vehicle and air ambulance were dispatched.

Emergency services treated the man, who was then airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for further care.

Anyone who witnessed this incident and has not yet spoken with police should call 101 quoting ISR 470 of January 5.
