A 21-year-old man from Stevenage features in the latest edition of the Guinness World Records book for his sport stacking skills.

The entry for James Acraman in the 2019 edition, which was released last week, features his 171 cup pyramid, which he stacked in 59.1 seconds in November - breaking his own record of 1 minute 26.9 seconds.

Sport stacking involves stacking plastic cups in specific sequences in as little time as possible.

James, a former pupil of The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage, said: “I feel very honoured and couldn’t believe it when I opened the book and saw they had featured my success breaking the one minute barrier, which involved a lot of practising and training hard every day for months.”

Last month, shoppers in Asda on Stevenage’s Monkswood Way saw James demonstrate sport stacking, raising £120 for the Cure Parkinson’s Trust.
