Former Boro boss among managers interested in taking over from Gary Smith following his departure last week
Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace is believed to have spoken to former boss Graham Westley about the vacant manager’s position at the club.
Westley left Boro in January 2012 to join League 1 rivals Preston North End and was succeeded by Gary Smith only to leave the Lilywhites last month.
Smith’s time at Stevenage came to an end last Wednesday following his side’s poor run of form, and he met with Wallace on Monday to finalise the terms of his departure.
Stevenage, who lost to Tranmere Rovers on Sunday with captain Mark Roberts in charge of the team, are next in action at Crawley Town this Friday.
