Stevenage have signed further back-up for veteran goalkeeper Chris Day after securing the services of Fulham shot-stopper Jesse Joronen on a six-month loan deal.

Following the one-month loan capture of Crystal Palace’s Chris Ketting just under a fortnight ago, boss Teddy Sheringham has tripled his short-term resources between the sticks with the 6’5” Fin.

Joronen has played four times for the Championship side and represented his country at senior level.

He also had a spell at fellow League Two side Accrington Stanley last season, making four appearances.

The first of those four starts came at the Lamex Stadium as he was beaten by Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee in a 2-1 Boro win.
