A Stevenage skate park has had to be close due to safety fears after an independent inspection.
Herts County Council has revealed this afternoon that Bowes Lyon skate park in St George’s Way has been shut on a temporary basis.
The inspection raised concerns about the deterioration of some surfaces.
A spokesman for County Hall said: “The decision to close the park has been made to ensure the safety of users. We will now be looking at options to make the necessary repairs so the facility can be reopened.
“This decision was made on safety grounds only and does not relate to any possible regeneration developments being explored by Stevenage First.”
