STEVENAGE singer-songwriter Nadeem Leigh has made it through the blind audition stage of talent show The Voice following a performance aired on BBC One tonight (Saturday).
Nadeem Leigh wowed judge Danny O’Donoghue with a unusual rendition of I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2.
The former John Henry Newman pupil will now be coached by the lead singer of The Script as part of Team Danny, ahead of competing against other acts in the next round.
The 34-year-old spoke to the Comet about his thoughts ahead of the performance, as family and friends watched on backstage.
He said: “Before going on stage I kept saying ‘I’m not ready’ - it was such a whirlwind and surreal experience.
“I just had to compose myself but it was mind-blowing. I think if you focus on the judges it would all become too much so I just tried to block that out and do what comes naturally.”
