Wedgbury and Heslop join the ranks at Boro

Stevenage have added two more players to their squad as Graham Westley’s summer re-build continues.

Midfielders Sam Wedgbury and Simon Heslop join new fellow new signings Luke Jones and Oumare Tounkara as Boro’s squad for next season starts to take shape.

Wedgbury moves to Stevenage from Macclesfield Town where he made 43 appearances last season and was voted the club’s Player of the Season. He was a key member of the squad that made it to the FA Cup fourth round where the Silkmen lost to Premier League outfit Wigan Athletic.

Heslop, 26, is described as a ‘strong midfielder’, and joins on a free from Oxford United. He spent three years at United making 90 appearances after joining the club in 2010 from Barnsley.
