A magical ball in memory of a baby girl who died when she was just 19 days old will be held next Saturday in aid of Keech Hospice Care.

The children’s event at The Paul Kearney Theatre in Stevenage’s Timebridge Community Centre on Mobbsbury Way will be an interactive concert with five princesses, a disco, party games and a visit from Father Christmas.

The ticket price, which is £18 per child, also includes a digital professional photo with the snow queen and princess, and a small facepaint or glitter tattoo.

The ball, which is being organised by entertainment company Wish Upon a Star, is being held in memory of Lexi Charles-Kerr, who was born on September 2, 2011, but died 19 days later.

More than £33,000 has so far been raised in her memory.

Melissa Amer – a trained actor, singer and dancer – started Wish Upon a Star with Stevenage singer Bethan Scanes, at first performing as Elsa and Anna at children’s parties before growing to also perform at weddings and festivals.

Melissa said: “Since we started, we have always tried to do things for Keech. They do such amazing work and the children are always so happy, and the environment is warm and friendly.

“We have done mini shows at the hospice, and sung as Elsa and Anna at big events. This year we wanted to do something extra special to ensure children have a magical Christmas, and raise some money along the way.

“I have got together a team of professionally trained singers, dancers and actresses who will perform as five of the classic princesses.

“There will be a bar and refreshments and the room will be decorated magically.

“We will also have a suprise visit from Santa and his elf, who are hilariously mischievous.”

So far, Cinderella, Belle and Elsa have been revealed as three of the princesses who will be at the ball. Check out Wish Upon a Star’s Facebook page for the next big reveal and for more information about the event, which will run from 2pm to 5pm next Saturday, December 1.

There will be a raffle on the day, so anybody who would like to donate a prize can email wishuponastar.ent@gmail.com.

Tickets, at £18 for children and £5 for adults, are available from the same email address or from ticketsource.co.uk/date/571149.
