Aching arms and tired eyes didn’t stop the darts team at Stevenage Postels Club completing a 12-hour marathon in support of East & North Herts Hospitals’ Charity.

Peter Foster – who organised the event – gathered 11 friends and family members for the arrows effort, raising £1,347.23 to be shared equally by the Herts Breast Unit Appeal and the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre. Peter said: “It was pretty tough, but really fun to do. Knowing the money we raised will be used to improve the lives of patients attending the cancer centre is really rewarding.’

Macmillan chemotherapy charge nurse Mark Jones said: “This is a fantastic amount, the money will fund little extras that will make patients’ stays here that much more comfortable.”
