After wowing judges at a national hip-hop dance competition a pair of talented Stevenage teenagers are hoping to represent the UK at this year’s world championships in America.

Joshua Richards, 15, and Leah Weeks, 16, finished second in the Advance Duos category at the UK Hip Hop Dance Championships earlier this month.

This means the Marriotts School pupils who both live in Stevenage are eligible to be part of the British team which will compete at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship being held in San Diego in August.

The pair have both danced at Warriorz Performing Arts Academy for the past two years. Its founder Zara Richards said: “It was a fantastic achievement for them. It’s going to be expensive for them to go so we’re focusing on raising enough money to fund the trip so they can realise this fantastic opportunity.”
