A Stevenage man has denied entering a person’s house without their permission and threatening to murder them.

Pearce John McGinnity, 26, of Parkers Field, Stevenage, denied one charge of aggravated burglary with intent and one charge of attempted murder at St Albans Crown Court today.

The charges relate to an incident on April 9 this year, when Mr McGinnity and an accomplice, Roy O’Donoghue, are alleged to have entered the property at Spencer Way in Stevenage, armed with a glass bottle and a knife, and attempted to murder Jay Williams.

Mr O’Donoghue, 35, of Ditchmore Lane, Stevenage, failed to appear at court to enter a plea to the same charges today and a warrant has been put out for his arrest.

If re-arrested he will appear at court to enter a plea tomorrow.
