Stevenage residents are invited to get arty and scientific when Stevenage Museum and play centres across the town transform into ‘Fun Palaces’ on Saturday, October 1.

Fun Palaces 2016, a free, nationwide celebration that aims to get people involved in art and science, kicks off at all play centres in Stevenage at 10.30am when children and adults will be able to get involved in tile and marble painting. Simply turn up at Bandley Hill, Pin Green or St Nicholas play centres to take part.

Stevenage Museum is also offering people of all ages the chance to try their hand at some simple animations from 10.45am to 12pm before a laughing yoga session from 2pm to 3pm. Again, there is no need to book.

Fun Palaces first took place in the UK and worldwide in October 2014, when 138 venues, locations, communities and groups created their own local events. More than 3,000 people took part in organising these events, many of them as volunteers, and 40,000 people took part.
