Stevenage men in court after string of motorbike thefts

TWO men have appeared in court on charges relating to a string of motorbike and moped thefts across the area.

Matthew Hessing, 24, of Vinters Avenue, Stevenage, and Charlie Wyatt, 20, of Eliot Road, Stevenage, attended Cambridge Crown Crown on Friday charged with multiple counts of conspiracy to steal.

Police arrested the two men last month after motorbikes or moped were stolen from 16 addresses in Stevenage, two in Hitchin, and one each in Letchworth GC, Knebworth and Ickleford within the last year.

Hessing and Wyatt have been released on bail and will return to Cambridge Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on February 15.
