Stevenage Indoor Market is celebrating Armed Forces Day today and urging people to come along, donate to charity and enjoy everything on offer on the day.
The day will feature live music, face painting, a magician and Elsa and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen.
Peter Mason is chairman of the market traders’ association and has run a music and DVD store at the market for the past 23 years.
He said: “This is the fifth year we’ve run the day and we’re hoping this one will be our biggest.”
Toni Lee will be kicking off the live music at 10.30am at the market in St George’s Way. It’s free to attend and people can donate to a variety of military charities including Combat Stress and The Royal British Legion.
Peter said: “All the charities will have their own charity boxes and people can donate to them directly so all the money goes straight to them.”
