A MAN who pleaded guilty to having dozens of images of children being abused has been spared jail.

Keith Berry pleaded guilty to six offences of downloading indecent photographs of children, one of possessing an indecent photo of a child and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving an animal.

The 64-year-old, who appeared at Cambridge Crown Court last Thursday, was given a three-year community order with a requirement that he complete a sex offender treatment programme.

The judge also issued a sexual offences prevention order to monitor Berry’s internet use and restrict his unsupervised contact with under 16s for 10 years.

Berry, of Bedwell Crescent in Stevenage, must also sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
