A racist has been put behind bars for pursuing a campaign of racial harassment against a man in Stevenage.
Stevenage magistrates jailed Roy O’Donoghue, of Ditchmore Lane, for 18 weeks after hearing that the 35-year-old had persistently referred to his victim in ‘racist terms’ between February and March this year.
O’Donoghue also assaulted the man and damaged his property in a series of acts which were described as ‘racially aggravated’.
In addition to the jail term, the bench ordered O’Donoghue to pay compensation of £100, costs of £620 and a £80 victim surcharge.
